Army Cpl. Joshua S. Harmon

Died August 22, 2007 serving during Operation Iraqi Freedom

20, of Mentor, Ohio; assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 35th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division, Schofield Barracks, Hawaii; died Aug. 22 in Multaka, Iraq, of injuries sustained when his helicopter crashed.

Joshua was born in Euclid, Ohio in 1986 to parents Richard and Donna Harmon. He graduated from High School in 2005 and enlisted into the Army as a combat medic. He married his wife, Kristin in 2007. He loved the guitar and cars and had a great zest for life. His smile was bright and contagious. He had such a huge compassion for others.
While in Iraq Joshua saved the life of a fellow soldier who had been shot in the head while they were out on a mission. This soldier fully recovered and is living well today. The actions Joshua took in this incident earned him the Army Commendation Medal with Valor.
