I didn’t know you in life, but I held you in death. I was in the truck behind you. I helped pull you out. I helped carry you to the black hawk when you had gone. I love you and grieve for you as much as one soldier can for another. I didn’t even know your name that day, but your life and your impact on me have followed me for eight years. I have thought of you often, and I have written pages and pages about you. Rest well, my friend. I look forward to the day when I can greet you in the new life.
