Army Sgt. Daniel Lee Galvan

Died August 12, 2004 serving during Operation Enduring Freedom

30, of Moore, Okla.; assigned to the 2nd Battalion (Assault), 25th Aviation Regiment, 25th Light Infantry Division, Schofield Barracks, Hawaii; killed Aug. 12 as a result of pilot misconduct which caused the helicopter in which he was riding to crash in Salerno, Afghanistan.

Daniel was born into a military Family with an older sister and two
older brothers. He deeply loved and cherished all of his family, his
GOD, his Country and the Army. Daniel followed his Dad and two older
brothers into the Army, where he served as a Blackhawk Crew Chief. He
loved flying and was happiest when he was in his beloved Blackhawk; a
proud member of the “Knighthawks” Daniel loved his job, knew its
dangers, and was determined to do his part in America’s fight against
Terrorism. He believed in helping the people of Afghanistan,
especially the innocent children. Daniel’s hobby was building model
helicopter of all types and sizes, swimmming and riding his motorcycle
all around the Island of Oahu with his riding buddies every Sunday.
Daniel never met a person he did not like and always found the good in
people. He is greatly missed by his Mother, Father and Siblings.
