Monthly Meet and Greets
On the second Wednesday of each month, the leadership team will host evening Meet and Greet events in different Kansas City locations as a way of spreading the word about our mission and building interest with attendees about joining the team.
On Wednesday, January 10, Mike Prevou led the first meet-and-greet at Country Club Bank in Leavenworth, KS. “We had 16 people attend, an excellent turnout,” said Prevou. “We had several volunteers sign up right off the bat. We also got the names of other attendees who expressed interest in specific volunteer roles at upcoming events. Our goal for January to April is to build our team, develop our business processes, and engage as many of the Veterans Service Organizations and community leaders as possible to get their input and endorsements.”
Also on Wednesday, January 10, Acting Executive Director Jack Rush attended the Greater Kansas City USAA Chapter Purple Connection meeting at the GRID collaborative workspace in Overland Park. “I had a chance to interact with a number of local Veteran Service Organizations that were in attendance,” said Rush. “The focus of the evening was how to help veterans reconnect in the workplace or participate in team activities with other veterans. Making presentations were Veterans Writing Workshop, Team Rubicon, and Warriors’ Ascent.”
